As well as normal houses and furniture, I also enjoy making more unusual miniatures. These are not kits, they are pieces I have made by using a variety of items, such as my Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures In Wonderland inspired pocket watch, my white pumpkin house which I made using worbla and plaster of paris and the mousehouse that I built around a dollhouse staircase.
I made the furniture for the mouse house by using scraps of 0.4mm ply, plus fabrics, beads and more. I wanted it to look scruffy and as though mice really have gnawed and nibbled at scraps of wood and fabric to make their own tiny, fully furnished home that comfortably houses their many, many children.
